Party Planning Time

It's hard to believe that in a little more than a month, Mary Grace will be turning a year old...and yes, party planning has officially taken over at our house! I started thinking about a "theme" for her 1st birthday party months and months ago {truth be known, before she was even born}...you know, because normal people do that, right? ;)I may be going a bit over the top for her first party, but Bobby and I discussed it and decided we'd go big this year and then tone it down for the few that follow...I hear that's what a lot of people do these days? I decided on a 'Sweet Shop' theme with many shades of pink, candy, pink lemonade, and these super cute scratch off cards I stumbled across. After browsing hundreds of cute Pinterest ideas, I've already decided on next years theme ;)

Here are a few of my inspirations:

I have so much to tackle on my to-do list before April rolls around. I'm trying to do major things now, so that I won't be overloaded the week of her party.

I'm completely open to fun ideas for the party, so feel free to send them my way!

Happy Friday!

Another Weekend Has Come and Gone

Monday morning = sad face time. Although I have some really great things happening today at work, I'm still sad that I can't lounge in my jammies while watching Mickey with my best girl.

We had a fantastic weekend with just the right balance between rest and play.

Saturday, the hubs and I headed to dinner and a movie- the classic Valentine's date. Safe Haven was pretty good. If you're a Nicholas Sparks fan, or just a fan of love stories, I highly recommend it. It was so nice getting back to 'us' for a few hours. Miss Mary Grace has just as much fun playing with Nanny J- I doubt she even missed us.

Sunday was filled with church, family, and girl time. We had dinner at Nannie's and met our newest family member, sweet Isabelle! Oh my gosh, she is just precious.

Afterwards, the hubs headed to the races while MG and I had a girls afternoon. I try to soak up every second of times like those, because I know one day she will grow up and our home will be empty again. Oh how our sweet girl brings us such happiness!

That's all I have for today. I hope you had a fantastic {and relaxing} weekend, too.

Happy Monday!

Back to Blonde

I've been flirting with the idea of getting back to my "roots" - so to speak. While the last three years as a brunette have been fun, and it was nice having a change, I'm starting to miss my sun-shiny locks. With Spring and Summer just around the corner, it's the perfect time to lighten up. At my last appointment I went with a lighter shade of brown as a start to getting back to blonde slowly. I think I'm brave enough now to jump in head first and start adding some major blonde into the do'.

I've been browsing the wonderful world of Pinterest looking for ideas to show my magician of a beautician.

I mentioned this to my coworkers today and they said they couldn't imagine me as a blonde. This was funny to me because I've been blonde my whole life. So, I dug through my old photos, and found the last one of me before going dark.

Stay tuned for what is sure to be a chaotic, crazy, fun change!

Sweet Mary Grace - 10 months

Here we are again, another month has passed. This past month has been a whirlwind: sickness, teething, pulling up..... oh my! You are now 10 months old - double digits, my love. Speaking of double, you my dear are a double handful!

 Daily Life. You're into EVERYTHING you can get your hands on. Your attention span for any one toy is about 5-10 minutes and then you're on to the next best thing...mommy's iPhone, remote controls, the iPad, Daddy's phone, more remote controls. We've tried gifting you every toy remote control and play phone out on the market yet you only want the real deal...surprise surprise. Favorite activities right now include riding on your Pink Poodle, taking all your toys out of your toy basket, checking your mailbox on your play house, standing next to the door looking outside at Louie, watching Mickey Mouse's Clubhouse, and dancing to music. You love to help me in the kitchen, especially when it comes to emptying cabinets and banging pots and pans...such fun, such fun. I am now one of "those moms" - I practically let you do anything, as long as it's not harmful.

Milestones, Big and Small. You're still crawling, but are no longer doing so army style- yes my dear, you're finally crawling with your tummy off the floor. You've started pulling up on everything, attempting to open every cabinet and drawer we have, and cruising back and forth from pieces of furniture. You will let go and stand by yourself for a split second, freak out, and then immediately sit down...it's hilarious. Your vocabulary now includes mama, baba {bottle}, and Da-Da. You love to share your food and toys with us. You will feed us one puff after the other, all the while smiling and laughing because you know you're being oh so sweet. Sharing is a life lesson it took your mommy a lot longer to master and I hope you are better at it than me.

Such a Personality. You wave all the time. It doesn't matter where we are...the grocery store, restaurants, the church...if you see someone you think all attention should be focused on you and you get irritated if someone doesn't go ga-ga over your cuteness.You've gone from babbling a lot to saying mmmm-mmmm non stop.

{little hands and feet}

Growing Pains. This past month we had to venture to the doctor for your 9 month check up...ugh how I loathe those days. This day happened to coincide with a very bad case of bronchitis. We made our first trips to the E.R. {two within 12 hours}. You were one sick sweet pea. After loads of meds, and even breathing treatments, you finally started clearing up. We kept you home from all social functions for the rest of the month from fear you'd catch something again.

All About The Food. We changed your routine up a bit this past month to get you on track with eating four meals a day and lessening how much formula you drink each day. You eat oatmeal with fruit for breakfast, have a mid-morning snack, veggies for lunch, fruits in the afternoons, and yougart with fruit/puffs for dinner. We are soon going to start introducing you to more solids. You sleep about 10-11 hours per night, going down around 8PM and waking up at 7AM and take two 1.5 hour naps each day. You also have 2 teeth {more on the way}and show them off with those huge smiles you give us!

{look at that sweet baby hair}

Everyone has told me this is their favorite "stage" and I can see why...it's like you're this little person now and I am constantly mesmerized by everything you do. Daddy and I both look forward to the weekends so we can have time together as a family of three.

 Looking back at old pictures, its hard to believe you were once so little. It seems like so long ago.
{10 months - 10 weeks}

We love you, toodles!

Sweet Treat

 L.O.V.E. those dimples.

Remember how I said it's not always 'Rainbows and Sunshine'? Perfect example- our 9 month photo session. Mary Grace started screaming just before we arrived and Would. Not. Stop. I tried everything, but she just wasn't having it. I had packed some adorable little dresses and accessories for her to sport- psshh. I didn't even get to take her coat off. I improvised by taking off her socks, throwing on a hat/hair bow, and giving her my necklace. I would make funny faces and she would smile between sobs. Luckily, we have a pretty good photographer, if I may say so. Oh well, that's life with a wee one!

This was the night I noticed she had a tooth that had just broken through. No wonder she was so frustrated!

Happy Friday, Ya'll!
