Baby's First Christmas

Everyone told me that this Christmas would be one of our most memorable....you were right. Christmas with little ones is just so much more fun. While sweet Mary Grace may not have grasped the whole concept of Christmas, baby Jesus, and gifts, it was still magical watching the awe and wonder in her eyes at each and every turn.

Our Christmas festivities began on Christmas Eve with a trip to my Dad's house. Mary Grace had a blast playing with her Pop and Gran, and seeing my Dad with my daughter always warms my heart.

Later that night we were off for our traditional Christmas Eve dinner with Bobby's family. As always, Nannie did a fantastic job on the yummy food and we all had a blast just hanging out and enjoying the season together. Once we were home and Mary Grace was settled in bed, Bobby and I exchanged gifts. He is such a sweet, thoughtful husband!

Christmas morning started at 7:00 for Bobby and I. This is the time Mary Grace normally wakes up, so we wanted to be ready. We set up the camcorder, made sure the camera was handy.... and little bit decided to sleep until 8:00. Everyone told us to enjoy the late start, because before long she will be up before dawn wanting to dig into her goodies.

After Mary Grace opened her gifts, we threw on our coats and headed back to Nannie's for the Christmas breakfast tradition, followed by gifts. Then, we were off to spend time with Bobby's mom, sister, and niece. Later, Bobby's dad stopped by our house, and we ended the evening at home with my mom and my brother's family.

Once everyone left, it was bath time followed by Daddy reading the Christmas story from the book of Luke. By the time we had Mary Grace asleep, we were exhausted!

This was by far our best Christmas yet. I look forward to many, many more with our little family. My sincerest hope is that your day was filled with just as much joy and love.
