Sweet Mary Grace: Month 7

My Dearest Sweet Mary Grace,

Fall is flying by, and so are your days as a tiny infant. You are growing up before my very eyes baby girl and I can't help but turn into a big bowl of jello as I look back at pictures of when you were oh so little. I know I'll never be able to have those moments again and it makes me a bit sad.
Mary Grace, you are a total ball of energy and you go until you pass out. At times, I know you are tired and you'll wipe your eyes with your hands, yet you look at me like "please don't make me take a nap Mommy"...total heart breaker I tell you.
Everyone tells me 6-9 months has been their favorite time with their kiddos and so I am trying to soak in each and every moment from this fun/crazy/exciting stage.

Where we're at these days...
Attachment Woes. I knew the day would come when you grew out of your I-only-want-Mommy-and-Daddy phase, and that day has finally arrived. At the time I couldn't wait for you to become more social and independent. Now that it's actually here, though, I sometimes wish you were still so attached to us. Lately you've been busy blossoming into a little social butterfly. We're even able to leave you in the nursery at church without you crying! Still, when things start to turn pear shaped, Mommy's arms are  the only ones that will do- and I love that you find such comfort in me.
The Eating Habits. This past month, we decided to try to get you to down to 5 feedings a day. You take 5 (6-7 oz) bottles and then food/oatmeal/cereal 2-3 times a day. You love any and all food, and aren't a picky eater at all THANK THE LORD. Carrots are still your absolute fave, followed by squash, peas, and sweet potatoes. You prefer veggies to fruits. You also love Ella's Kitchen/Plum Organic pouches and they are handy dandy for us when we're out and about and you need a little "snack". The doctor said we could start working juice into the sippy cup, and I cannot wait to start using a sippy cup and slowly move away from bottles.

Size Matters. Looking back at pictures from the past few months, it's safe to say you are "leaning out" a bit and some of those little leg rolls have gone away (BOO), quite possibly due to the amount of time you are jumping and moving around. You are in 6-9 month clothes now and you look simply adorable in all your fall fashion...you have enough leggings, boots, jackets, shirts, sweater dresses, and such to last for a LONG time. You are still in size 2 diapers, but I am thinking we will be in size 3 Huggies before too long.

Sleepy Time. You take 2 naps a day, one long nap in the morning and then a shorter nap in the afternoon. Generally for naptime, we just lay you in your crib with your lovey and you put yourself to sleep {love that you do this}. When night time rolls around, you generally go to sleep around 8pm and sleep until 7:00 am. I am one blessed Mommy when it comes to your sleeping habits.
Time Occupiers. You love all your books...LOVE! We read daily and you love to help me flip the pages. Your favorites are You Are My Sunshine, Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed A Fly, and Goodnight Moon. You love to play with our remote, your tea sets, and your puppy piano.
Love those pouty lips!
Milestones and Such. You're "swimming" in an attempt to move around... I have a feeling we will be crawling soon. You are trying to sit up on your own, but you're still a bit wobbly. Your latest facial expression is to make a funny snarl...you crinkle your nose and sniff and it's TOO funny to watch. You love to play with/pull hair, and have started to take notice in jewelry as of late...watch out friends and family.

That's all I can think to report this month love bug. Our days are filled with so much joy and happiness and we have you to thank for that. So much fun in store this next month with the start of the holiday season!

All our love,
Mommy & Daddy
